Wonton soup is a Chinese dish. With low calories and a bit fat and protein, this soup can be quite diet friendly.
The preparation starts with making a small square wrapper of dough (made of flour, water, salt and eggs). After laying the dough in the palm, fill it in the center and enclose it in any desired shape by closing the hand.
Usual filling is shrimp or pork, mixed with a bit flour for better binding of the meat. The mixture can be seasoned with various spices or garlic and fine chopped green onions. The so created dumplings are then boiled or deep-fried and served in a soup.

When removed from the heat add desired ingredients. Traditional Chinese soup is made from boiling shrimp shells, dried flounder and pork bones (Cantonese), or the Wontons are served in a chili oil sauce, which names the dish Red oil Wonton (Sichuan).
