Sugukina turnip is known throughout the Kyoto region as one of the Kamo-yasai coming from the Kamigamo district that is related to the white radish. In addition to being considered one of the revered Kamoyasai it is also called Kamona. Sugukina is used to make a pickle dish called Sugukina-zuke eaten throughout the Kansai region of western Japan. Suzukinazuke along with Shiba-zuke and Senmai-zuke are three pickled food that the Kyoto region is known for producing.
