Tenkasu is a Japanese flake like ingredient used for different meals, such as takoyaki or okonomiyaki. It is made from deep fried Tenkura batter. It consists of water, wheat flour, eggs, baking soda, and oil. The batter is poured into hot oil, where it separates into bubbles. It is afterwards drained and packaged.
