Kushikatsu is a very popular Japanese meal. It consists of deep-fried pieces of meat and vegetables on a skewer. The meat can be chicken, pork, or seafood, and the vegetables used are commonly the ones in season, such as onion, eggplant, shitake mushrooms, etc. Once on the stick, the meat and vegetables are covered with a batter made of flour, eggs, milk and bread crumbs, and deep fried. The meal is served with a dipping sauce made out of Japanese Worcestershire, red wine, ketchup, and brown sugar.

Kushikatsu is highly inappropriate for dieting and not very nutritious, as it is deep fried, highly caloric, and greasy.
