- Raise upper body slowly using your arms
- Stop somewhere comfortable and hold that position for 5 seconds
- Twist body to the right and hold for 5 seconds
- Twist again to the left holding for another 5 seconds
- Slower return your body to its original position
Avoid over stretching your hips. For people with lower-back pain, over stretching can lead to increased pain in your back. If during the stretch you feel like you are hyperextending your elbow, then it is recommended that you bend at the elbows while doing the stretch.
Stretch out your waist like a track star
You may not be a track start, but at least you can stretch like one. Whether you are lying in the grass waiting your turn to show that you are the fastest, or you are just lying in bed waiting for you favorite show to start, this next stretch is for you.
The track star way to stretch your hips
- Lay on a flat surface facing up
- Bending your right knee at a 90 degree angle, cross you hip forming a 90 degree angle between your right leg and the floor. Isolate you torso, gluing your shoulders to the floor.
- Hold for 5 seconds
- Recover and relax
- Do the same stretch on your left leg
Avoid having your shoulder raise above the ground at all cost. Doing this drastically impairs the effectiveness of this stretch. Not only to you stretch your hip, you get stretch in the back of your thighs, back, muscles in your chest. Remember that if done right, there is no reason that this stretch wouldn't work.

- Sit up straight in a chair
- Raise your hands in the air as if to stretch your stomach out and hold for 5 seconds
- Relax and enjoy before the next portion of the stretch
- Raise your hands again, this time bending at the waist, collapse your body to the right
- Continue bending at your waist until reaching a comfortable position and hold for 5 seconds
- Return back to the middle position and perform the same stretch on your left side, holding for 5 seconds
If done right you will feel a stretch from your hips to your back. Avoid bending your back too much as to avoid injuring your waist. When lowering your body to your sides, it is best to use a mirror to make sure you are keeping your back straight.

How to stretch out using your desk chair
- Sitting down in a chair, cross your right leg over your left
- Grabbing the back of your chair, twist to your body to the right
- Hold each position for 5 seconds, slowly returning to your original position
- Repeat, doing the same for you left leg
To perform this stretch on chairs without a back, a stool for example, latch on to the surface you are sitting on. Pay attention to your posture when doing this stretch for best results.
